(AURN) -- The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) was founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson the founder of  Black History Month. The organization is continuing the legacy of Dr. Woodson by promoting and disseminating information about Black life, history and culture to the world. The organization's convention takes place this week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
