Soul Singer Fontella Bass Dies at 72

(AURN) -- Famed soul singer Fontella Bass has died.  Bass is best known and credited for her 1960's hit 'Rescue Me.'  Bass suffered complications from a heart attack three weeks ago and succumbed to her illness Wednesday. She also suffered several strokes in the past seven years. Bass was 72.
