Trotter Drops out of Congressional Race

CHICAGO, IL (AURN) -- A troubled Illinois state lawmaker withdrew his name from the congressional race to replace Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. State Sen. Donne Trotter faces a felony charge of trying to take a handgun onto an aircraft at Chicago O'Hare International Airport in December. He cited his legal issues when he stepped aside, claiming that he didn't want it to become a distraction.
