(AURN) -- The NFL is implementing a new bag policy at stadiums for the 2013 season. This new policy will limit the size and type of bags that are allowed into NFL stadiums starting in the pre-season. In May, the league's Committee on Stadium Security unanimously recommended the implementation of this measure in an effort to increase public safety and expedite entry into stadiums.
So, here's what fans need to know:
- You'll only be allowed to bring in small clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12"x 6" x 12 inches." Other options include: a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag or a small , hand-sized "clutch bag," except where medically necessary.
- Prohibited items also include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind and computer bags.
