(AURN) -- President Obama and the House Speaker John Boehner continue a war of words being played out in the media. President Obama speaking from FEMA headquarters Monday, reitereated his position that he will not use the nation's economy as a borrowing chip.
Meantime, as the government shutdown continues, Democrats controlling the Senate will attempt to get a jump-start on the next looming fiscal crisis -- increasing the government's borrowing cap.
A spokesman said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid could unveil the measure as early as today, setting the table for a test vote later in the week. The Senate move comes as the partial government shutdown enters its eighth day with no end in sight.
