What is the Tea Party Influence on Politics?

(AURN) -- Citing "pettiness and bigotry" within the GOP, San Antonio Criminal Court Judge Carlo Key (below) this week jumped ship from the Republican to the Democratic Party; in a video posted to YouTube saying, "the Republican Party no longer represents his values."

Meantime, Mesa, Arizona Mayor Scott Smith (below), the Republican president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors told AURN News there was "bipartisan disgust" among U.S. mayors over the Tea Party fueled government shutdown.

Smith however, defended the GOP in general saying, "Republicans have a good story; they're just horrible at telling that story, and [we] concentrate on the wrong things in that story."
