Jesse Jackson Jr. Reports to Prison

(AURN) -- Former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. has started serving a two and a-half year prison sentence for misusing campaign money.  Tuesday Jackson reported to a North Carolina federal prison.  

Jackson was convicted on charges that he misused over $700,000 in campaign money to buy lavish gifts including fur coats and vacations.  Jackson's wife Sandra pleaded guilty to filing false tax returns and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.  Jesse Jackson is serving his time in a minimum security facility.
