Kidnapped American Pleads with Pres. Obama

(AURN/AP) - Warren Weinstein is appealing to the U.S. government to negotiate his release. The 72-year-old American was kidnapped in Pakistan by al-Qaida more than two years ago.

He was in the country working for a U.S. firm that advises Pakistani business and government when was abducted from his house in the eastern city of Lahore. In a video sent to reporters that bore the label of al-Qaida's media wing, Weinstein says he went to Pakistan to help the U.S. government and now feels "abandoned."
