Settlement in 'No Colored Nurses' Case

(AURN/Rome, NY) -- A settlement has been reached in the case of a New York nursing home that bowed to the racist wishes of a patient who did not want to be cared for by Black nurses.  In doing so the facility reassigned African-American nurses to another unit, and posted an order that read, "No Colored Nurses" in the unit.

New York's State Attorney General's Office announced the deal on on Tuesday with Betsy Ross Nursing Home in Rome, NY,  following an investigation into racist practices at the facility.
