Man Sent Back to Prison to Serve 98 Years

Rene Lima Marin

(AURN) -- Rene Lima-Marin was released from prison in 2008 after serving 10 years of a 16-year sentence for robbing two video stores at gunpoint age 19.

After being released early on good behavior, Lima-Marin went on to get married, father two children, buy a home and completely reform his life.  Now, a Colorado judge has sentenced him to return to prison to serve a 98-years.  Due to what's being blamed on a clerical error, officials now say Lima-Marin's original sentence should have run consecutively rather than concurrently.

Lima-Marin and his family are now asking the state of Colorado to pardon his crime in which no one was injured.   Meantime, his wife, Jasmine has created a petion at appealing for her husband's release.
