(AURN) -- Federal, state and local agencies continue their work on the ground in Ferguson, Missouri after the police involved shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The Federal government's involvement has stepped up with each additional problem that has arisen since the black teenager's death.
Tensions have escalated on each side in Ferguson resulting in riots, looting and SWAT Teams in riot gear firing tear gas and rubber bullets at night time demonstrators. The ultimate goal for government officials, community, church and Black leaders is for peace in that town as the investigations progress to include probes into possible Constitutional and Civil Rights violations. Six offices within the Department of Justice are working on the Ferguson situation to include the FBI, Civil Rights Division, COPS, CRS-Community Relations Service, OJP-Office Of Justice Programs, and the US Attorneys Office. Attorney General Eric Holder has been closely overseeing his Departments efforts. Monday, at the White House Holder will give President Obama an update on the situation in Ferguson. It is their first update on the matter at the White House since Brown's death as both the President and Holder were both vacationing in Martha's Vineyard. Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to President Obama, details what is expected in the meeting.
